What? No way... not a new post?!?!?!

Yes it's true... I have actually decided to post a new updated blog... shocking I know! Well, camp is over for another year, and I'm working for my daddy-o at the office... I am a Chiropractic Assistant... oooo fancy name!!! I know I know... it's quite the title ;) I'm working 3 days a week and trying to get out of doing responsible things the other 4 ;) I've been rock climbing twice, and have really enjoyed this new interest!!! Maybe I'll post a few pix... ya know... I seriously wonder if anyone is even on blogspot anymore... I'm pretty much on facebook all the time... I have all but abandoned myspace... and email is just too slow ;) My life consists of working, taking care of little girls, hanging out with friends, and drooling over Bethany's blog describing in overwhelmingly fascinating detail her travels all across the country!!! Ciao ;)

Hello... well, Europe was AMAZING the best thing ever... I can't wait to go back again. I'm at Canby Grove again this summer, I'm Teen Staff Coordinator again, I'm sharing the position with a guy named Ian from Scotland. I'm busy, busy, but I'm excited to see what God is going to do with me this summer!!!! I'm not going to be able to check this regularly, but if anyone is paying any attention to this... well, I'll try to keep this updated at least a few times this summer!!!!! I'm on email regularly so... umm... keep in touch ya'll!!!

3 Weeks!!!!!

Yes... it's true!!!! I am leaving for a 6 week long trip to Europe in 3 short weeks!!! (or long... depending how you look at it) I will fly out of Portland on March 28th and into Frankfurt, Germany with 3 friends. We are renting a car and pretty much driving everywhere for the next 6 weeks!!!!! (This picture is a VERY rough idea of the route we are planning.) We are staying at hostels, campgrounds and doing a little "couch surfing". (an organization that we found that links travelers with couches to sleep on!!!) I probably won't keep this blog updated while I'm gone, but I started a travel blog specifically for the trip. Check out my links and stay updated all the way through!!!!!!

umm... a new blog?!?!?!

No, I'm not still at the beach... thanks Amy and Maggie... I don't know though... Amy's a big one to talk... last time I checked she hadn't updated her blog in months...
Well, I'm working at a nutrition center in Molalla now, and saving up money for a trip to Europe for 6 weeks in March!!!!! YAY!!!! um... I'm just kinda hangin out right now... enjoying winter... I love the snow!!! ummm... I'll try to post more often, and with somthing actually to write!!!

hey, so I'm at the beach right now... yeah... like anybody reads this anyway... but I'm bored... and on vacation... anyway... I love my brother!!!! sooo... maybe I'll post a secuence of very strange events,.... anyway... um yeah!!!!

Camping!!!!

Camping yeah!!!! Jenny and I, and Dustin (a friend from Eugene) went camping last weekend to Detroit Lake area. We ate out of the pan with our fingers and cooked over the fire with chopped up kindling. It was a blast!!! I made popcorn over the fire, and when the tin foil came loose it looked like a firework show!!! It was a very relaxing weekend, just what we all needed. It also made me want to go more often, I now want to travel and camp, and pretty much see the world!!!! So... if any of you my friends have a similar desire... let me know, and we can take a trip!!!!!

rock climbing!!!

Here I am getting a kid all buckled and tied in to his harness so that he could climb those rocks!!!! I got to moniter those climbs, make sure that everything is done safely!!!! And for those who know a little about rock climbing, the kids climbed, belayed, and "back-up" belayed, I was just there to tie them in, help them out, teach them some technique, remind them to stay on task... that the climber's life is in there hands, but mostly to be right there when something goes wrong. It's a lot of FUN!!!!

CAMP!!!!!

Yes... I have been at camp for over a month now, and we are just now in the middle of our 2nd camp! Last week was an "Adventure Camp" which means that the kids (ages 11-13) stayed all week and we did cool stuff with them like... we took them rock climbing, rafting, and sleeping out under the stars!!! It was a blast, but now we have a little break, this week the kids are 1-6 grades, and they go home night!!! Yeah!!! I like both, and I really like the staff here, I just ordered a camara, so I will post more pictures when I get it... until then... well, I gotta get some sleep before camp tomorrow!!!

The Sound of Music

Well... the title of my blog is "whats happening with katie" so I suppose that I should post with some new info on what is actually happening with me. So here goes... this is a picture of the cast (and director) of The Sound of Music. If you didn't get to see it, you really missed out because it was fabulous!!!! I had the pleasure of coordinating the hair and make-up for the performances... it was a big job, but the mothers and sisters helping me were awesome! There is no way that I could have done it without them, not even if I started the day before and worked all night on each cast member!!!!! The cast members were great as well, all of them were patient, and very gracious, even Daniel Johnson didn't get mad when he had to do his own make-up :) that's another story... I'm sure that everyone is exhausted and glad that it is over, but all of the cast that I have talked to are also a little sad that it's over... well... I suppose that when something is so much fun with so much work involved, and with such great turn out there is bound to be some sadness.
well, I've rambled long enough... now you know what I've been up to lately, and I will post soon about my next adventure.

Beach Retreat!!!

A couple of weekends ago we took the FIRED-UP kids to the beach as a reward to those who have done the scripture memory and reading through out the year. We had a blast!!! This is Faith and I coming off of the dry slide. (Neither one of us braved the slide that ended in the lake... but some of the other kids did!!!)

These are my gorgeous sisters... yup I dressed them... And did their make-up... Why else do you think that I went to beauty school???? The real story is that we just decided to play dress up after Faith begged me to let her wear some make-up. And naturally being the wanna be photographer that I am I snapped some pix!!!! You might say that I'm having way too much fun with my new sisters... And you would be right... I love them to pieces ;)
